Cutting the Ribbon for the new Gibsons Public Market

It’s a beautiful thing when communities rally together for the greater good. AL13 is extremely proud to be a part of the development of the new Gibsons Public Market. Famous for the hit Canadian TV show The Beachcombers, the town of Gibsons B.C. is now home to a new gathering place for the communities of the Sunshine Coast.

On April 29th, as we gathered on a typical damp west coast Saturday, we witnessed the grand opening ceremony and truly felt how special a project like this is for the community. People and companies of all sizes donated their time, money, products and labor to build this important gathering place and we couldn’t be happier to be a part of it.

If you’re on the Sunshine Coast and want a snack, meal, coffee, or even just a place to take in some of the local culture, we highly recommend visiting the good folks over at the Gibsons Public Market.

As well, The Nicholas Sonntag Marine Education Centre phased-opening will begin this Summer. One highlight will be the large Craftsman Collision tank in the market’s common area, where there will be local species on display highlighting invertebrates (sea stars, crabs, snails, sea cucumber) and small fish species such as perch, sculpins, greenlings, gunnels, sand lance and warbonnets.
